I entered an electrical manufacturer listed with first section of the Tokyo stock exchange because I wanted to use Korean after I graduated from the university. I worked in administration for imports and exports, and demand analyzes of maintenance parts in the company. I had mental problem because I couldn’t fit into the Japanese conservative corporate culture, and my department relegated from Kyoto to Shiga, and my immediate boss quit by a volunteer buyout due to 2008 financial crisis. I thought the time I taught Korean in lunch time in the company was the most fun and I wanted to do fun things, so I decided to be a language teacher.

I quit the company, and I aimed to be a Japanese language teacher with going a Japanese language teacher training school. I got a job offer from a Japanese language school of an art university when I was in the school.

I used my experience I worked for the company, and I was primary in charge of business classes in the Japanese language school. I taught Japanese in short courses for universities of America and France in addition to the normal Japanese classes. I quit the school because I moved to Tokyo.

I taught Japanese to business persons, executives and their family members of international companies like NIKE, AIG, GE, Jonson and Jonson including NIKE Japan CFO as a trainer of Cartus. I started “MINAMI’S JAPANESE WORKSHOP” with using these experiences in 2019. I moved to Osaka and working in Kansai and online now.

大学卒業後は習得した韓国語を使いたいと考え、東証1部上場の電気機器メーカーに就職。会社では貿易事務や保守パーツの需要予測などをするも、日本的な社風に馴染めなかったこと、またリーマンショックにより部署が京都から滋賀へ左遷され、直属の上司も希望退職してしまい、メンタルダウンする。社内で昼休みに韓国語クラスを開いていた時が1番楽しかった！やはり楽しいことをしようと思い立ち、語学教師になることを決意。

会社を退職し、日本語教師養成学校に通いながら日本語教師を目指す。養成講座の受講中に、芸術大学に附属する日本語学校で講師として採用される。

日本語学校では企業勤務経験を活かし、ビジネス日本語の主担当を務める。通常クラスに加え、アメリカやフランスの大学からの短期コースも担当。東京への転居に伴い、日本語学校を退職。

東京ではCartusの講師として、NIKE CFOをはじめとするNIKE, AIG, GE, Jonson and Jonsonなどの大手外資系企業のビジネスパーソン、エグゼクティブと家族に日本語を指導。これらの経験を活かし、2019年にMINAMI'S JAPANESE WORKSHOPを始める。その後大阪に転居し、関西を拠点にオンラインでも活動中。

Minami Fujimura

I am from Onomichi, Hiroshima.

I have taught Japanese since 2011.

I started “MINAMI'S JAPANESE WORKSHOP” in 2019.

I longed for the society have gender equality and can say our opinions, so I dreamed to go to overseas and to work for IBM when I was an elementary student.

I belonged to a cheerleading club when I was a junior and junior high school student. I was the captain of the club and got 3rd place in the all Japan cheerleading competition when I was senior.

I entered Hiroshima city university and majored international studies. I went to study abroad to Korea as an exchange student for 1 year because my professor recommended. I had interests in Japanese language education because I did TA of the Japanese language department in the university in Korea. I got first place in a speech contest that Japanese embassy cosponsored in Seoul. 

I also belonged to Toastmasters International in Japan and Korea, and I learned communication and leadership through English speeches.

小学生の頃から男女平等で自分の意見を言える社会に憧れ、海外留学し、IBMで働くことを夢見る。

中高6年間はチアリーディング部に所属。高校3年時にはキャプテンを務め全国大会3位になる。

広島市立大学に進み、国際学を専攻。ゼミの教授に勧められ、在学中に1年間韓国の大学に交換留学。留学先の大学で日本語学科のTAをしたことをきっかけに、日本語教育に興味を持つ。留学中にソウルで開催された、日本大使館共催のスピーチコンテストで優勝。

また、日本と韓国でトーストマスターズインターナショナルに所属し、英語のスピーチを通して、コミュニケーションやリーダーシップについても学ぶ。
